The 2pfg is run by a staff of
researches, technicians and students.
The researchers’ team is multi institutional with permanent positions for
part of the staff while the other is composed by collaborative researchers.
The permanent team usually is in charge of running the incoming projects
while the collaborative team frequently takes the lead specialized tasks and
also give guidance to the projects’ development to render the academic
results into field applications. The technicians’ staff is in charge of the
development and the construction of the mechanical devices necessary
to the experimental work. At last, but not the least, the student staff is in
charge of the execution of jobs in all areas of the projects. The
undergraduate students
stay engaged with the 2pfg for an average period of 12 to 24 months
but, despite of the intermittent character, they are one of the most
valuable resources that the educational institutions have. On the other hand,
their engagement in the research activities helps them to enhance their
professional skills while supporting the accomplishment of
undergraduate works.
The graduate students also work on the 2pfg's projects while, by its
turn, the 2pfg support their thesis work in many ways since supplying
bibliography, experimental facilities and computer resources among
others. The scholarship are provided by governmental agencies as well as
by project grants.
